Dr. Seuss Vocabulary Words Chart

Next week begins the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday. When preparing the children for the upcoming lesson, I asked them about some characters from the stories. To my surprise most of my class had no knowledge of who Dr. Seuss was or who his characters are. This vocabulary word chart was created to not only expose them to the characters but to assist in writing endeavors.

****FREEBIE**** Environmental Print Book {Best Buy}

Today one of my students brought over the Environmental Print Book and asked me to read it with her. She placed the book across our lap and began to tell me some of the places she recalled. When I asked her what services these places provide, she looked at me with questions in her eyes. So began another mission. This environmental print book will have not only the logo but wares of the company featured. This is the first of many miniature environmental (self help) books for young children.

{Small Group Activity} Alphabet Soup Game

Hello everyone!! I know that in a lot of our classrooms, the race to prepare our students for the following grade is in full swing. After an assessment on my Pre-K students I realized that they needed more exposure in prefixes, alphabet sounds, international foods (social studies), and critical thinking. The curriculum being used at the school I work is the Creative Curriculum. Using those guidelines, I created this game for my students. I hope your class will enjoy this set as much as my students have.
